So that is what we are working with, 44% of people have “a great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in “the church or organized religion,” Gallup said. At first read I thought, “Interesting that seems about right.” But, then after more reading, it seems that it has been on a steady decline for some time. The poll does not distinguish between what they mean by church or organized religion. So, it could presumably include the flying spaghetti monster religion. I can’t imagine why people wouldn’t take us seriously anymore.
